STATEMENT
We at Freehold Royalty Trust believe that your personal information deserves protection.
SCOPE AND APPLICATION
Personal information, such as your name and e-mail address, will only be collected if you make an enquiry to Freehold. Subject to this policy and applicable laws and regulations, Freehold will only use your personal information for the purpose of responding to an enquiry that you may make, and for no other purpose whatsoever. Your providing your personal information to Freehold will be considered by Freehold to constitute consent to our using and, where applicable, disclosing your personal information pursuant to this policy.
The law provides that Freehold may and must use or disclose your personal information without your knowledge or consent in certain circumstances, including the following:
(i) if a law, regulation, search warrant, subpoena, governmental authority, court order or rules regarding production of records requires us to do so;
(ii) if required in the course of an investigation of a breach or possible breach of a contract or of the laws of Canada or a province;
(iii) if the personal safety of another individual is in jeopardy; and,
(iv) if otherwise required or permitted by law.
You may revoke your consent to our retaining your personal information at any time. If there are any consequences to your doing so, we will advise you at such time. The law does allow us to continue to retain your personal information for as long as is necessary for reasonable business or legal purposes.
You may contact us to request that we update or change your personal information. All such requests must be in writing. Where we decline to modify your information, we will annotate the information to that effect and provide you with our reasons for that decision. You may also contact us to request access to your personal information in our custody or control. All such requests must be in writing and will be responded to within the time provided by applicable law, which is generally 45 days but which may be extended in certain circumstances.
Please note that your right to access to your information is not absolute. For example, there is some information we cannot legally provide, such as the personal information of another individual. There is also some information we may choose not to provide, such as information obtained in the course of an investigation, opinions in certain circumstances, confidential commercial information and information subject to solicitor client privilege.
